In an interesting development, even by the very, very, very low El Paso Democratic Party standards, a candidate hoping to be a player in the upcoming March primary is no longer eligible to be a candidate.
The El Paso Democratic Party has been sent a letter by one of the candidates asking for removal from the ballot.
No, not the Vince Perez and Tony Quintanilla thing. The Courts are handling that one.
I'm referring to congressional candidate Ben Mendoza. I'm kinda late to the party on this one.
Word on the street is that he was busted for having signatures that weren't legit on his petition for office. He filed petitions in lieu of the fee to be on the ballot. He should've know they would've been checked out.
Its been alleged that people that allegedly signed the petition allegedly didn't sign the petition. It was also alleged that some people who allegedly signed the petition had allegedly moved out of town or were allegedly dead.
Mendoza doesn't indicate why, but he withdrew his candidacy in this letter to the El Paso County Democratic Party.
Allegedly.

Also, in lieu of a today's cat video I am posting this picture of a unicorn, rainbow, and glitter. Former El Paso County Democratic Chair Rick Melendez took the blogosphere to task for not being positive enough about El Paso for him. Whats more positive than a unicorn, rainbow, and glitter? (Great, now my blog looks like Ali Razavi's MySpace page).
I shall commence blogging about my favorite menudo joint tomorrow.
